A HAIR salon in Culcheth is no longer offering gossip magazines to clients following the tragic death of Caroline Flack.
The former Love Island host sadly took her own life last weekend after claims of being hounded by celebrity gossip magazines and mainstream media.
Now, Angelina Grace Contemporary Hair in Church Lane is joining hair salons across the country by offering a selection of mindful alternatives to stop buying into the industry.
Angelina Mccaffrey, salon owner at Angelina Grace, said the decision to ban gossip magazines has been well received by the community.
She said: "It's attracted so many people which is really touching.
"We're replacing gossip magazines with healthy eating magazines, mindfulness, even books from charity shops.
"If people start a book and they like it or want a recipe from a magazine, they can take it home and bring it back when they are done."
Angelina said reusing books is also helping to reduce waste.
She added: "A lot of clients have been really encouraging and they are going to bring things in too.
"I just think if there's anything we can do to help, then it's the way forward."
The salon owner is hopeful that more hair salons can unite and join the movement.
