PUPILS and staff at Gorse Covert Primary School celebrated Australia Day last week to raise awareness of the bushfires and climate change.
The children dressed in the Australian national colours and parents could donate directly to some of the Australian charities supporting the bushfires.
The children learned about the history of Australia and its links with the UK and they about the animals and homes destroyed in Australia.
The school also adopted a koala through the World Wide Fund for Nature.
