GARETH Widdop is expected to miss the start of Warrington Wolves’ Super League season.
The club have confirmed their marquee signing picked up an ankle injury in training on Monday.
He is now set to miss the first three games of The Wire’s 2020 campaign – against Wigan, St Helens and Wakefield – as estimates currently put him at returning for the home game against Toronto Wolfpack on February 21.
it means that, for the second season in a row, The Wire's pre-season has been punctuated and dampened by an injury to a key half-back after Kevin Brown suffered a serious Achilles injury in training this year.
