VOTERS in Warrington will go to the polls in December.
MPs voted overwhelmingly in favour of a General Election on December 12 in Parliament last night, Tuesday.
It is likely to be confirmed by the House of Lords today, Wednesday.
Warrington South MP Faisal Rashid voted in favour of the election. His fellow Labour MP Helen Jones did not vote.
MPs voted 438 to 20, a majority of 418, in favour of giving the Early Parliamentary General Election Bill a third reading - and enabling it to complete all stages in the Commons.
The election has been called after more failed attempts to get a Brexit agreement to withdraw from the EU through Parliament.
Labour backed the call from Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday, Tuesday, after saying there was a guarantee the UK would not leave the EU without a deal.
The latest deadline for leaving is January 31.
At the last election in 2017, Mr Rashid shocked serving Conservative MP David Mowat to take Warrington South while Mrs Jones won in Warrington North for the sixth time having first been elected in 1997.
