ALL the tastes of Budapest will be coming to Warrington for one day only when a pop-up Hungarian Market comes to the town.
The event is the result of a collaboration between Warrington Market, Hungarian Sausage grocery shop and Cheshire Chimney Cake and will also see live music, folk dance and Hungarian crafts on Saturday from 10am.
You will be able to try authentic goulash, which is one of Hungary’s national dishes, as well as langos which is one of the country’s most popular street food dishes, at the festival which takes place at Warrington Market.
It is a type of fried bread, sometimes called Hungarian pizza, that is usually topped with sour cream and cheese.
There will be a range of desserts as well including chestnut puree, mezeskalacs which is Hungarian gingerbread made with honey and topped with icing and chimney cakes.
A chimney cake is a ribbon-like dough that is wound around a wooden cylinder before being dusted with sugar and baked in a rotisserie oven. Visitors will be able to wash that down with pálinka – fruit brandy – or Hungarian wine and beer.
Among those entertaining the crowds on Saturday is Bence Gusztos, who was a finalist in Hungary's most popular talent show Megasztár, and now lives in Warrington and Hungarian folk dance group Ti-Ti-Ta.
