SHOPPERS queued around the block as a new supermarket opened in Orford.
Dozens of customers were present as Heron Foods opened its doors on Orford Lane on Friday, July 5.
The discount chain gave away goodie bags to its first 100 customers and handed out a number of vouchers.
This is Heron Foods’ third store in Warrington, joining branches on Buttermarket Street in the town centre and at Birchwood Shopping Centre.
More than 15 jobs have been created by the brands move into the former Ron Spencer Cycles unit – which has moved to Crossley Street, off School Brow, after 40 years in its traditional home.
A free-to-use cash machine will also be installed in the new supermarket.

Store manager Stuart Willis, who has worked for Heron Foods for nine years, said: “I’d personally like to thank colleagues for their preparation work and the residents who have already shown support.
“I think the store will give the area a huge boost.”
