TWO letters were hand-delivered to my home yesterday, both from Jo Crotty, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Lib Dems in Warrington South.
One was addressed to me and the other to the four remaining members of my family, which I thought was odd.
Anyway, one letter was sufficient, as we don't want too many trees killed off.
The point is not who the letters were addressed to but who they are from and the content of them.
Despite Gordon Brown getting cold feet and deciding not to call an election, Jo still sees fit to let the residents of Warrington know what's going on in her area.
Her letter - SOS for the NHS - outlines her concerns about health services and also includes a survey for us to fill in and return.
The catchline at the bottom of the letter is: "Fighting all year round to protect our local NHS" - and that's the important part.
She sees fit, even though an election is not imminent, to still campaign.
And, to be fair to the Lib Dems, locally, they are excellent in Warrington South.
We get a regular Focus newsletter telling us what they are up to and what the big issues are.
I've also been impressed with Tory candidate David Mowat - he's produced his own newspaper which has gone out to homes in our area.
But we don't get anything from Labour.
I think they must have written off Grappenhall as not worth bothering with.
The only time we see Helen Southworth's smiling face is a few days before an election is due.
Which is where Labour makes a fundamental error.
Lots of people are still undecided and, should an election be called tomorrow, are waiting to be convinced who deserves their vote.
Let's face it, Cameron is still the new boy, Brown has only just taken over as PM and Ming Campbell has gone before he was humiliated.
It's very arrogant to assume that people only deserve some attention before an election - it could be an expensive mistake.
