MANCHESTER United star Jesse Lingard took former footballer Ian Wright on a tour around Warrington.
The former Beamont High School pupil said he was 'honoured' to be the first guest on new online series 'Riding with Wrighty' and chatted to the legendary Arsenal player about his journey to professional football, his grandad's strict rules that got him to the top and his favourite chocolate bar as a kid.
He picked the Longford lad up in a Toyota Celica GT 1990, his dad’s car when Jesse was a kid, before going on a tour around Warrington.
How many places in Warrington can you spot?
During the video Jesse said his granddad was strict with him and told him not to play football in school in case he got injured.
He added: "When I got to year five or six I used to play but then he would drive past and shout out of his car at me.
"I used to say 'I'm alright I can look after myself'."
He also takes the cameras to Whitecross Community Centre and says it's 'where it all started' playing against his family with his granddad in net and the ball regularly smashing his glasses.
Jesse added: "Grandad was skills and dad was how to handle the big guys.
"He taught me a few nasty tricks!
"I got taught everything here."
And Ian Wright also gets to enjoy the 12p toll over Warburton bridge.
Jesse added: "Sometimes they let me over for free!"
The pair also stopped at Jesse’s corner shop on School Road where he was surprised to see it was number 14 – his squad number.
He added his favourite chocolate bar was a Freddo and it was ‘happy times’ living with his mum just down the road from the shop.
As a student, Jesse said he was ‘quiet and got his head down’ because he might not have made it at United.
