A PUB in a beautiful Warrington village has revealed its new outdoor area – just in time for summer.
A £240,000 revamp of the Red Lion in Moore has created a new outdoor courtyard area reminiscent of a Spanish barbecue bar
Mark Condliffe, one of the pub operators, said: “There’s been lots of local interest and positivity about the planned alfresco dining and barbecue grill.
“Everyone thinks it’s a great idea and are looking forward to trying it out.
“The garden looks good and is a great investment for the village. 20 years ago, the pub was a thriving community local.
There is space for 70 people
“We’re putting it back at the heart of the community and giving it a wow factor. 25 years ago, no-one was interested in outside dining, but now they are, and we’ve moved with the times.
“We’ve got a south west facing sun trap, so finger’s crossed for a great summer. However, even if it isn’t we’re prepared as we’ve got covered shelters and heating.”

The pub has been given a complete facelift with new signage and lighting and substantially increasing its outdoor space.
The outdoor dining area has space for up to 70 people and features covered pergolas, cushion covered seating, festoon lighting, a fire pit, heat lamps and an outdoor grill which will serve grilled chicken and meats.
Food is grilled outside
The Red Lion is owned by Heineken brand Star Pubs and Bars and pub operators, Mark Condliffe and Neil Roughshedge believe it will create the best outdoor space in the area.
Inside the pub, two dining areas have been created including one which can be used by walkers and people with dogs.
Mark and Neil and their team have also launched a new broader menu offering home made pub classics such as steak and mushroom, seafood pasta and Mozzarella chicken in tomato sauce as well as launching afternoon teas.
The investment will also create an additional 10 jobs at the pub.
David Pritchard, regional operations director for Star Pubs and Bars said: “The investment will take the Red Lion to a new level and make it stand out from other pubs in the area.”
