WARRINGTON Music Festival has announced its full line-up of grassroots talent for the second day of the event.

On Saturday, May 4, Shaun Ryder’s Black Grape, The Farm, Fez and Clint Boon will perform on the open air Old Fish Market stage.

It will be followed on Sunday, May 5, with the best of Warrington and north west emerging talent headlined by The Winachi Tribe.

The electro funk band will be joined by Kula Bay, Serratone, Hanover, Filthy Tricks, The Lotts, Thoughtune, Hollow Vandals, Crawlers, The Racket and 4ft Soldiers.

La Scala, The Bid, Muddy Elephant, Scholar, Olly Thornton and the Shirts, Jack Woodward, Sophie Morgan, Edits, Kaleiders, Pacific and Marc Gallagher complete the bill.

Ian Cox, Golden Square director, said: "Warrington Music Festival is going to be a fantastic two days for everyone involved. The team has been working hard to ensure that we have a great mix of genres, styles and artists.

“I’m thrilled that we’re able to give so many talented groups, singers and performers the platform to experience playing to an audience of thousands. The emerging acts will be taking to the stage from 12pm on Sunday and we can’t wait for it to start.”

Steve Oates, organiser of festival, added: “Music is a powerful way of connecting people and providing identity and expression to the town. Although culturally we might be often overshadowed by the neighbouring cities, having both Manchester and Liverpool on our doorstep provides some brilliant opportunities that we are working hard to exploit.

“The support given by The Golden Square and The Warrington Bid team to The Music Festival has been fantastic. I think it shows considerable ‘out of the box’ thinking on their part and as a result the response to the opening event on Saturday May 4th was amazing, with tickets being snapped up in hours.

"The headliners for this event are Warrington’s The Winachi Tribe, who are one of the hardest working bands you could have the pleasure of working with. They’re living proof that if you are committed, realistic and work hard you can achieve your goals in life. It’s going to be a great weekend and I look forward to seeing everybody there.”
