MOTORISTS are being warned to stay vigilant after a stranger attempted to enter a woman’s car while she was driving in Birchwood.
The victim was stationary at traffic lights on Oakwood Gate near to the junction with Birchwood Park Avenue shortly before midday yesterday, Wednesday, when a group of young men are believed to have pulled alongside her in a red car.
An unknown male is then said to have jumped out of this vehicle and attempted to enter the woman’s car by the passenger side door.
Described as being ‘shaken’ by the incident, she managed to lock the door and was able to drive away from the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 12.25pm on Wednesday, March 27, officers received reports of suspicious activity in the Birchwood area.

“The caller reported that at around 11.50am on March 27, an unknown man had got out of a red car and attempted to get into her car while she was stationary in her vehicle on Birchwood Park Avenue - the suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt and got back into the red car before fleeing the scene.”
