THERE is no hiding place when a fan asks a prominent rugby league coach a question about a thorny subject during a public press conference.
It came at a ‘Bad Blood’ promotion of this Friday’s Warrington Wolves versus Wigan Warriors debut clash, which was staged in the Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington.

And one Warrington Wolves supporter sniffed blood and decided to go for the jugular.
Having obviously been caught up in some speculation and rumour, he wanted Wigan Warriors’ Adrian Lam to clarify whether he is paid his wages in a manner that is not in keeping with the spirit of the game’s salary cap regulations.
Eddie Carey, a Warrington native now living on the Gold Coast of Australia but back in town on a visit, said: “Is it not true that when you signed for Wigan they also employed your wife to get around the salary cap and paid her more than you?”
Lam was not for being derailed by such quizzing from a Wire supporter though.
He said, smiling: “Well, my wife’s not over here at the moment. But she might be on holiday somewhere like Vegas!”
And he clarified: “No, it’s not true!”
