WARRINGTON Wolves Volleyball Club prepared for their first ever National League home fixtures with two victories against more local opposition.
The ‘A’ team won two Merseyside League fixtures to remain unbeaten and top of Division One.
They beat clubmates Warrington ‘Wires’ and Knutsford, conceding just one set over the two matches.
Sunday’s game against Knutsford got off to a rocky start as Warrington lost the first set 25-19, but they bounced back strongly to win the next three 25-20, 25-23 and 25-14.
That came off the back of a victory over the club’s second team, with ‘Wires’ unable to contain the ‘A’ side’s serving and attacking strength as they won by three sets to nil.
Warrington’s first National League home games are on Sunday against Lincoln Cannons and Manchester Marvels 2 at Orford Jubilee Hub, 11.30am start.
