OFFICERS have seized a quantity of what is believed to be the illegal drug spice yesterday, Thursday.

Police carried out a stop and search at Warrington Central station on Winwick Street in the town centre at 4.05pm.

The woman attended a voluntary interview later that day.

A spokesman for the force said: "Officers on the town centre beat team were on hand to detain and search a female on their patch earlier.

"They discovered a quantity of a substance believed to be spice.

"The female has already been interviewed and will be dealt with at a later date."
