SAM Tomkins has been handed a one-match penalty notice for his controversial challenge on Daryl Clark during Saturday's Super League Grand Final.
The Wigan full-back slid in to contest a kick and his knee made contact with the Wire hooker's head as he lay on the ground.
Referee Robert Hicks elected not to send Tomkins to the sin-bin – one of two incidents in which the Warriors man may have considered himself fortunate to avoid a yellow card – but the RFL's Match Review Panel have deemed the challenge worthy of a suspension and a Grade B charge.
The RFL have however confirmed that Tomkins, who is joining Catalans Dragons next year, may serve his ban for England's game against France - a game Wire or Wigan players were unlikely to be considered for anyway.
His trip on Bryson Goodwin has not been punished further.

Meanwhile, Thomas Leuluai has also been handed a one-match penalty notice for Grade B dangerous contact.
No Wire players have picked up charges.
