I thought the win against Catalans was probably one of the biggest of the season.
With all the injuries we got dealt that week we knew it was the biggest test of the year. Catalans come to the Halliwell Jones to win that game, they had a full strength team and they held nothing back in the physical department. The win wasn't the prettiest of wins but we knew it would be a game that we had to win by just grinding them out in the middle of the park. The 2 points is the main thing and that was our goal and we completed it.
I was impressed with the debut of Lee Mitchell, i thought he ran some strong lines in attack and his defense was really tough, he also as a great attitude in training and so i think he has a bright future in front of him. Again i think its unfair to single players out because i feel we are playing well together as a team but Ben Harrison, Rob Parker and Mark Gleeson really took the game to Catalans and i think they deserve some credit.
After the Catalans game we got 3 days off to recover and rest the injuries some of the guys have. By no means is this 3 days holiday, it's a time to recover, hydrate properly and to take all of our supplements of proteins and vitamins, its mainly to recharge our batteries and to keep our focus on the rest of the season. When we are back in training on Thursday we will be greeted with a dry triathlon, which consists of rowing machines, bike and running machines, can't wait!!!!!
It was good to see Rob Parker go over for is first try of the season, the rule is that who ever plays first team has to score at least one try or they face the naked run at the end of the season, so thankfully we don't need to see that one, but to be honest i think Rob might just do it anyway haha.
I hope there will be a good crowd for the Huddersfield game, it will make a big differance for the team and with everyone supporting us it will be like an extra man. Your support and singing as not gone unnoticed by the players and staff and i would like to thank you all for your support.
Speak soon, Woody.
