PLANS to open an Irish pub in the town centre have been approved by Warrington Borough Council.
The former Jessops camera shop in the Old Market Place will be turned into Flanaghan’s Irish bar under the proposals, which have now been granted planning permission.
A three-storey pub, also offering food, would feature a mezzanine area of the top floor of the grade two-listed building – located next to BAP sandwich shop.
Several other food and drink outlets are expected to move into the Old Market Place in the near future.
The former Post Office building, vacant since late 2016, is due to become Loungers restaurant while Italian wine café Veeno will open in the former Officer’s Club unit.
