A NEW flat marks the start of a new chapter for Dave Molyneux.
The 32-year-old has become one of the first in Warrington to benefit from one of six new properties managed by mental health charity Making Space.
He has had chronic stress related mental health problems for more than 10 years and has had three heart attacks since January.
At his old accommodation he had to climb a flight of stairs, which brought extra problems for him to get around.
"It has made a vast difference to my life," said Dave. "Because of my heart condition I couldn't face going up and down stairs every day. I have now got a new fully furnished flat which is life changing for me."
His mental health deteriorated after losing his father at an early age. He has since been diagnosed with stress induced schizophrenia effective disorder.
Dave added: "My new home has certainly helped provide me with independent living. As well as a nice new property I also get floating support to see how I am going on."
Although he is unable to work due to his health Dave has just gained a qualification in IT hardware and software installation and is currently looking for voluntary work.
He concluded: "I would like to say a big thank you to Making Space for helping put a roof over my head."
