A HARD working carer had the chance to put her feet up after scooping a pamper prize.

Betty Lomax, from Orford, was treated to a pamper day after wining the completion because she works as full time carer to her husband, Harold.

The competition organised by Home Instead Senior Care meant the company provided Mr Lomax with free care while his wife had a rare moment to relax.

Mrs Lomax's daughter, Pamela Collier, nominated her mum as a response to the dedicated daily care that her mother has given to her father over the past eight years.

Mrs Collier said: "Mum is delighted to have won this and it has really lifted her spirits."

Philip Adlem, the owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Warrington, said: "We wanted to raise the profile of carers, and the amount of work they put in.

"We were very impressed by the way Mrs Lomax copes and felt she fully deserved this treat."

Home Instead Senior Care provides companionship, home help and other support services to adults in their own homes to help improve the quality of their lives and maintain their independence.
