A mum-of-two has converted a derelict post office into a new ladies clothing boutique.
The post office building on Orford Green has stood vacant since the 1980s and residents are happy the old eye-sore has finally been converted.
Michelle Coulson, 36, from Orford, opened Frock Off Boutique in November, just in time for Christmas.
Owning a ladies clothes shop has always been a dream of Michelle’s.
She said: “Since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to own a clothes shop. I have worked in management in other retail stores, but this is the first time I’ve had my own business.”
The business owner even used the post office as a child, growing up just yards away from the unit in Primrose Close.
She added: “The shop is doing really well and all the locals have been very supportive.”
The boutique has been a lot busier than Michelle expected, with the Christmas rush continuing throughout January.
Michelle said: “I thought that it would quieten down this time of year and most things would sell online but I’ve had lots of people coming into the shop still.”
Frock Off Boutique sells a range of high street fashion, from dresses to trainers, with everything priced under £50. The affordable boutique is open Monday to Saturday 10am until 5pm.
Items can also be viewed and ordered via the shop’s Instagram and Facebook pages at @Frockoffboutique.
