TWO teenagers from Newton will be hoping to slay their dragon competitors at a world championship.
James McRobert and Josh Edward will be representing Great Britain in the Dragon Boat World Championships in Australia this September after starting the sport last year.
The 17-year-olds took part in a dragon boat initiative launched by Merseyside Police and competed with other youngsters from the area along with Community Support Officers Paul Musker and Natalie Gabriel, to win a place at the National Dragon Boat Race.
Although the team didn't win both James and Josh were selected for the Great Britain squad.
CSO Gabriel said: "This is a fantastic achievement for the team as a whole as well as the two individuals."
