WITH the ringing of the last school bell of the year children and staff at St Mary's Catholic Junior School said goodbye to head teacher Bernice Livesey.
The 55-year-old has retired after 14 years working at the school on Barn Way, including seven years spent as head teacher.
The staff lined up a This Is Your Life' style assembly for her last day and invited her family along to join in the day's events to mark her time at the school.
Mrs Livesey said: "I will miss the children and miss the staff but it is the right time to retire. I am sad to leave but I am looking forward to new experiences."
She is now planning to go travelling around the world, starting off in the Far East next year.
"I have had a lot of fond memories because the children and the staff make the job what it is. I thank the governors, staff, parents and children for their support over the Past 14 years," added Mrs Livesey.
