GORSE Covert Primary School pupil Ellis Davis has won a prestigious golden shoe after coming first in this year's Walk to School Week competition.
The competition required entrants to design a walking shoe.
The Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Celia Jordan MBE, presented Ellis with his reward for designing the brightest and most eye-catching walking shoe.
More than 40 pupils took part in the national event, which aims to encourage children, parents and teachers to use sustainable and healthy modes of travel.
Councillor Sheila Woodyatt said: "This competition is an excellent way of encouraging children to find healthier ways of getting to school and underlines the tremendous efforts being made within the borough to promote sustainable travel and reduce car congestion."
