FRIENDS and family organised a couple's wedding in only a week for a television show on the BBC tonight, Thursday.
Policeman Jason Mather and community drugs team worker Stacy Bray were filmed for The Big Day Out on BBC1 tonight at 8pm.
The Fairfield couple chose people to plan and arrange their wedding using their £7,000 budget - and everything worked out perfectly.
"It went absolutely swimmingly, I think because the family and friends knew them so well" said one of the organisers, Ruth Garry, aged 34, from Lymm, who works with Stacy at Halton Community Drugs Team.
Finding venues at short notice proved the biggest problem. The service was held at St Elphin's on March 3 and was followed by a reception at Gullivers. The honeymoon was in Egypt.
Stacy put the request in to take part in the show and she said: "I never wanted to get married before I met Jason, so I never had the perfect' wedding in mind."
They were due to get married in October but Stacy applied for the TV Show, hosted by Nick Knowles, after seeing an advert online.
The 27-year-old only saw the dress 50 minutes before and said it was absolutely gorgeous'.
Jason, aged 36, got a lot of ribbing from friends for crying during the day - and no doubt faces more after tonight's show.
