COLEEN McCloughlin, fiancée of Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney, met a Birchwood business to thank it for raising almost £23,000 for charity.
Claremont Group Interiors, based in Kelvin Close, was one of more than 100 companies that were given a £50 stake from Halliwells, in Liverpool, and challenged to turn it into much more.
The design company rose to the challenge and raised the most money by creating a teddy trail, sending Monty the teddy bear 1,000 miles using as many different modes of transport as possible.
The money raised by the companies will help fund Claire House in Liverpool, the hospice that supports Coleen's adopted sister, Rosie. Rosie suffers from a genetic neurological disorder called Rett syndrome which has left her unable to walk or talk.
