You have been a regular at Creamfields now for many years, what is your fondest memory?
All my Creamfields experiences have been memorable in their own ways. I think the thing that runs across all the CF festivals is the warmth and energy that is given back by the crowd. They’re so reactive and appreciative of the music. It’s unbeatable.
You have remixed artists from Whitney Housten to Basement Jaxx, what qualities do you look for in a song to remix it?
The track has to touch me. I have to appreciate the original production. Without that initial attraction I wouldn’t consider a remix.
At Creamfields you always have queues outside the subliminal arena when you are doing your set, how does that make you feel?
Proud! Relieved! It’s always fantastic to see a crowd in our arena, not just for me, but for the artists I invite to perform under the Subliminal umbrella. I want my guests and my friends to enjoy the event as much as the public. It’s a 2 way thing. It’s also amazing to see that house music has made its mark and is continuing to touch millions of people worldwide.
Who are you looking forward to seeing at Creamfields this year? And can you give us your top tips on who you think is going to be hot at this years Creamfields?
I hear the Chemical Brothers have got an incredible light show to accompany their set this year so I’d like to make time to go and see them. Justice are also a band that have been bubbling under the surface for a while – would be good to check them. Plus, Creamfields is always a great meeting point for all the Artists and DJ’s. I always love catching up with familiar faces old and new.
Will you be dropping any surprises in your set this year?
Yes, of course ;-)
