THE lost story of a war hero from Warrington who spent time in an Italian village is being investigated.
Carlo Caratzu, from Mestre, near Venice, in the north of the country, spent last week in Warrington looking for details of Ray Skett who stayed in the village during the Second World War.
A pictured of the man, who was believed to have served in the RAF although that is not now understood to be the case, was featured in a copy of a regional paper in Italy.
Now Mr Caratzu is looking to track Mr Skett - or any of his family members down.
l If you have any information you can call Gareth Dunning on the news desk on 434113 or write to: Mr Caratzu at Via E De Nicolas, 30/173, Mestre, Venice, Italy.
