Jo: My impression of David Cameron is that he is all spin and no substance. He is Blair clone - almost Blair's inheritance in that he's this public school fresh faced guy who will do anything to get the tories back into power and the polls following the by election last week show the tories at the lowest since Cameron took over - they came third in both of those by elections. But they may have some retinence inchanging their leader as they've done that three or four times now.
David: I would say first of all that we will stick to our leader and we are glad to have him and not Ming Campbell. As regards Cameron it is true that he is under pressure from a certain wing of our party. THat pressure is caused by his relentless determination to come up with practical solutions to the issues of today and not yesterday and in the end politics is about ideas and not people, and we and Cameron will be judged by our ideas at the next election.
Jo: I would say politics is everything about people! I'm waiting to see ideas. The public at large want to see what the policies are going to be because at the moment they seem to be a policy free zone.
David: Jo is right, politics is about people but it's not about personalities. I'd like to finish this by saying I'm happy with my leader and I hope she's happy with hers.
