A FORWARD thinking Warrington businesswoman is pass on her green message across the country.
Sallie Maskrey, of Portal Business Centre, has been appointed to the board of the national organisation Business Centre Association (bca) and will play a key role in encouraging companies to be as energy efficient as possible.
And she has a big plans for her own company, based at Dallam Court in Dallam, too.
She said: "The drive to create awareness of the greener office environment is something that we have been actively encouraging all the companies based at the Portal Business Centres to adopt over the past two years.
"We have installed energy-saving lighting, introduced light sensors in communal areas, and have pro-actively promoted the conservation of energy by turning off equipment when it is not in active use.
"Our future plans for the business centre includes: a feasibility study for the installation of both a solar panel and a wind turbine."
Her work will be part of the bca's Think Global - Work Local scheme which places reducing unnecessary traffic and travel on the roads at the top of its list of priorities.
It also advocates the use of remote working to incease efficiency.
The Portal Business Centre has a 20,000 sq ft office business space and provides accommodation to 30 companies.
