A ROMANIAN truck driver was robbed at gunpoint by armed thieves in Howley.
Two raiders smashed through the HGV's windows and threatened the 23-year-old with a handgun during the robbery on Saturday on Howley Lane.
The offenders stole a bag containing Euros, pounds, the driver's passport and two mobile phones during the incident around 5.15pm.
A quantity of Romanian currency was also snatched in the attack.
A spokesman for Warrington police said: "The men threatened the driver with what is believe dot be a black handgun.
"Fortunately, the driver was not injured but he was left extremely shaken.
The attack happened shortly after the driver stopped his white Iveco 7.5 ton lorry to have a rest.
The first thief is described as 5ft 9ins tall with shaved hair. He wore a black anorak and black trousers.
The second man was slightly shorter with short hair and was carrying a wrench.
He also wore a black anorak and jeans.
Detectives are urging drivers to park in designated truck stops and well lit areas.
