FIREFIGHTERS were called to Loushers Lane after reports of an empty tanker on fire.
Crews from Birchwood and Penketh fire stations arrived on the scene at around 10.20am and used two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
Foam was also used to put out the flames and two firefighters put on special breathing equipment to check the tanker was extinguished.
A thermal imaging camera was then used to check the area for spots of heat.
Luckily nobody has been reported hurt at the scene.
