JOIN in the party atmosphere at Howley Carnival this weekend.
The finishing touches are under way for the 27th carnival as the team behind the event prepares for all weather conditions; if it rains the carnival will be moved indoors to St Elphin's Community Centre.
The fun will begin with a parade from Hall Street starting at 2pm, which will lead to Howley Park, weather permitting. The parade will feature music from Flixton Brass Band and will include the carnival's rosebud Elle McLaughlin, princess Shannon Spencer and queen Charlotte O'Dea.
The carnival will be opened by Warrington North MP Helen Jones and will feature displays from Warrington Gymnastic Club and the Harlequin Morris Dancers among others.
Home made cakes and locally grown fruit and vegetables will be on sale and refreshments will be available.
