WHY is the grid higher than the water?
That was the question posed by Great Sankey man Mervyn Jones as gardens flooded during the recent rains.
The Payne Close resident said the grid in a neighbour's garden was too high to drain the water from around the mainly council bungalows - against regulations.
The 52-year-old plant operator, who lives with partner Jean Hopwood, said: "It was like a big black mess of water."
Golden Gates Housing failed to comment on Mr Jones' drainage problems.
