TEENAGERS from Newton are radio ga ga after becoming the voice of a radio station this week.
The sixth form students at St Aelred's Catholic Technology College are fronting the Thought For The Day section on BBC Radio Merseyside's breakfast programme.
The youngsters have written their own speeches, which are being broadcast everyday this week.
As part of their radio experience they went down to the station's base in Liverpool to record their thoughts.
Katherine Pearce, aged 16, said: "It was ace, they gave us a tour of the building. It was really strange to hear the DJ's voice and see him in the studio."
The students picked a range of topics as their thought for the day, including community, multi-cultural society and the pros and cons of organised religion.
Rebecca Monks added: "We had to change the language quite a lot to make it accessible to the listeners. It was a great challenge to fit your opinions in to 300 words."
Thought For The Day is on air at 7.50am on the BBC Radio Merseyside breakfast show all this week.
