UNSUNG Warrington heroes may not get their names in lights.
But a new campaign will see their names get around town as one of the Pride of Warrington' winners.
The Warrington Guardian has teamed up with Warrington Borough Transport to launch The Pride of Warrington', to celebrate the town's unsung heroes.
David and Anne Forrest are among the first to be honoured by the campaign and will have buses named after them.
The couple, from Wash Lane, Latchford, are members of Warrington Borough Transport Customer Panel and are being recognised for their commitment to bus travel.
David, aged 75, said: "We are both flattered, it was something of a surprise that we never expected."
Joining them is Chloe Kendrick who is the granddaughter of Arthur Smith, Warrington Borough Transport's longest serving driver with 37 years service. James Houghton, a former pupil at Penketh High School, is chosen for his help in designing the new bus station mural.
Colin Whitfield will also have a bus named after him for his help with designers to make the new bus station accessible for the disabled.
Les Hoyle, Warrington Borough Transport chairman, said: "We have decided to honour these living heroes' by having their names adorn our buses to remind everyone of their amazing work for the community."
The group will officially open the town's new bus station today.
