'SEVERE' cut backs to the borough council's grass cutting programme are causing problems across town, a meeting has heard.
Clr Linda Dirir, (Lab), Penketh, spoke out about the issue at Penketh Parish Council after hearing a report from the area's footpath officer that pathways had become overgrown.
She said: "The borough council, in their plans to save money, have cut down on plans to cut grass and verges from around six or seven times a year to three.
"And it's causing complaints right across the borough. I was recently talking to people about it from Burtonwood."
