CURIOUS youngsters at Stockton Heath Primary School got the chance to use stethoscopes to listen to their heart beats.
Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust representatives made their way to the school, on West Avenue, to deliver a ‘smart heart’ workshop on April 3.
Cardiology consultant Dr Ahmed Farag delivered the session.
He said: “We need to get to kids early before they start smoking to tell them how amazing the heart is and how to look after it.”
Year four teacher Stephen McGuffie added: “The workshop was an amazing opportunity for children learn about the heart, lungs and, more importantly, how to keep them healthy.
“The pupils loved listening to their heart beats using stethoscopes and the visiting doctors were fantastic.”
