AFTER a decade of success with high school students, a Warrington theatre group is opening up its services to children aged between seven and 11.
CODYS, Warrington's youth theatre group, have teamed up with SHOWKids UK to launch CODYS SHOWKids in Warrington this September.
SHOWKids is a newly developed independent production company specialising in providing theatrical services for young people.
Irene McGee, CODYS president, said: "This partnership between CODYS and SHOWKids UK provides CODYS with the opportunity to provide a broader range of young people within Warrington with the opportunity to participate in an activity that we know is much needed within the town.
"CODYS has, for the past 11 years, provided similar opportunities for 11 to 19-year-olds and we are proud to now be able to extend our services to encompass the seven to 11-year-old age range.
"We have seen the launch of similar organisations over the past few years, however, we believe that we are unique in our approach of simply working towards staging productions. Each CODYS SHOWKids production company will present two musicals per year."
The first scheduled production for CODYS SHOWKids will be Disney's Aladdin, following the story of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Jafar, Iago and not forgetting the Genie, made famous in the Disney film by Robin Williams, rehearsals for which will commence in September.
