STAFF at Travis Perkins' distribution centre in Appleton have raised £8,785 for Macmillan Cancer Support following a busy year of fundraising.
In the last 12 months the 120 members of staff at the site, on Lyncastle Road, have been taking part in a number of activities including charity car washes, head shaves and coffee mornings.
Although £8,785 has been raised, the team are vowing to continue helping Macmillan.
Neil Hughes, site operations manger, said: "We fully support and engage in the fundraising on site and I am very proud to have my team on site working hard to raise as much money as they can for Macmillan.
"The ideas and the team-bonding that goes into the events are superb."
Timber product specialist Trish Holleran said she was 'proud to be a part' of the fundraising initiative – a view echoed by warehouse operative Albert Brown.
He added: "Macmillan is a wonderful charity – the work they do is excellent, the way they help family, friends and the sufferers of an illness.
"It's nice to be able to raise money for such a great cause."
