A DARESBURY pub wants to get residents reading as part of a fundraising initiative in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Ring O'Bells, on Chester Road, will host a 'book swap' event over this month's bank holiday weekend.
The aim is to encourage members of the public to bring their old books along to swap them for a new read.
Those taking part are invited to donate £1 to the charity.
Pub general manager David Ridout said: "We know our guests love a good book but we wondered how often our guests get to read it a second time?
"We thought if we could encourage Warrington residents to swap their well-read novels for something new to get lost in, and raise money for Macmillan in the process, it'd be a brilliant event.
"We will also be taking part in the traditional Macmillan 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' fundraiser in September but we are calling on the public to join Chef and Brewer over the bank holiday weekend to raise as much money as we can for Macmillan."
The book swap is part of a three-year campaign by Chef and Brewer pubs to raise money for Macmillan.
