STRETTON Post Office has earned a stamp of approval after beating 3,000 branches to scoop a prestigious award.
The store, on Tarporley Road, came out on top in the 'best local' category at the Post Office Network Sales Awards on June 4.
The ceremony celebrated the performance of teams and individuals working in more than 11,500 branches – but the Stretton Post Office, which was honoured for its impressive sales and service, beat 3,000 others in its category.
The four members of staff at the shop, including manager Susan Carter, were delighted by the recognition but wished to give a special mention to customers for their ongoing support.
Susan said: "We're really proud of our achievements. We all work really hard to offer our customers a great service and we're pleased the Post Office has recognised our efforts through this award.
"If we did not have the people coming through the doors then we simply would not be as successful as we have been."
Post Office network and sales director Kevin Gilliland added: "We are undertaking the biggest modernisation programme in UK retail history.
"People working in branches like Stretton are key to this transformation and to ensuring that our branches remain at the heart of communities for the future."
