NEGLECTED cats and dogs have been given a well-deserved treat thanks to the selfless efforts of staff from the Ombudsman Services in Daresbury.
Twelve employees from the dispute resolution organisation, which has offices at Daresbury Park and Wilderspool Park, gave up their time last month to visit RSPCA's Warrington, Halton and St Helens (WHS) rehoming and rescue centre, on Slutchers Lane, to renovate the site.
The team painted fences surrounding the dog recreation areas, as well as the interior of the 'home room' where dogs are taken to experience sights, sounds and smells to help with rehabilitation.
They also delivered a hamper full of treats for the cats and dogs at the centre.
The efforts round off a year of fundraising activity in support of the RSPCA branch, during which more than £2,940 has been donated.
Helen-Louise Smith, who leads the charity work at Ombudsman Services, said: "On this occasion it was great to be able to offer our time and resources to help freshen up the rescue centre and see the immediate benefits of our work.
"We've enjoyed supporting RSPCA WHS and seeing the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to care for and rehabilitate the cats and dogs at the centre.
"We hope they continue to receive funds and support to help more neglected and abused animals get a fresh start at life."
