YOUNG sports stars at Winwick Primary School will soon be learning from the best coaches in Warrington, thanks to a £7,180 National Lottery grant.
A total of £1,440,344 is being distributed to groups across the north west by Awards for All.
And pupils interested in rugby and athletics might be about to reap the benefits of that grant.
Kerry Kitson, who is a year four teacher and the PE co-ordinator, said: "The money is to set up a rugby after-school club and an athletics after-school club, so coaches can come from established clubs in the area and help to train the children.
"It is fantastic because we are trying to do as much PE in the school at the moment as possible."
Awards for All is a small grants scheme which is administered by the Big Lottery Fund on behalf of Lottery good cause funders, Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England.
