A WINWICK man has pushed himself to his limits to cycle more than 12,000km to raise funds for a charity close to his heart.
Henry Jeffers along with his friends Morgan Bywater and Nathan Bell have just completed the charity cycle which covers the length of South America.
The team followed the Andes Trail running along the West Coast of the south American continent passing through Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia to raise money for Help for Heroes.
Henry, who is currently serving with the 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment and is set to become a commissioned officer in September at Sandhurst, had the support of Army physical training instructor Nathan and commissioned officer Morgan.
He said: "On October 21, 2015, we departed for a truly inspiration and life changing adventure.
"Flying to Ushuaia at the very bottom of Argentina as the start point of our journey and pedalling north to the top of South America.
"Our challenge saw us cover over 8,000 miles over deserts, mountains and jungle in all manors of arduous conditions.
"We did this completely self-funded and unsupported carrying everything we needed to reach our finish line.
"This was a trip of a lifetime but not completely self-indulgent.
"With Combat Operations in Afghanistan finished it has left many of our brave men and women of the Armed Forces with physical and mental injuries.
"We are hoping to raise as much money and awareness for the Help for Heroes charity as a thank you to all past and present serving military personal.
"Without their sacrifices the freedom for our adventure would not be possible."
