HATTON, Stretton and Walton's ward councillor has praised the 'hidden heroes' behind each of the Town Hall figures.
Cllr Paul Kennedy, who was elected on the council in 2008, is retiring from his position in May following the controversial boundary changes across the town.
But the Conservative leader wished to thank those closest to him prior to his departure.
He said: "It has been a great eight years and I wish everybody the best. I would like to thank the residents of Hatton, Stretton and Walton for putting me into this position.
"But behind the scenes we have family members who support us. I think we should thank them, they are the hidden heroes, if you like.
"I am very grateful to my wife and my sons for all of the support that they have given me."
