IF you are out and about in Warrington today you might want to watch where you're going - because you might bump into a crocodile!
A picture of a croc supposedly running loose in Longbarn Park appeared on Facebook over the weekend, but the snap was subsequently deleted.
Fortunately, it appears to have been a hoax, with the Friends of Longbarn Park page posting an apology for their prank.
The Facebook page administrator said the crocodile picture had been a 'light-hearted' response to a park user claiming there was no wildlife in the area.
They added: "The post was in fact a light-hearted way to show a certain park user, who claims that there is no wildlife on the park, that there is in fact an abundance of creatures on there.
"The post was not meant to mislead, cause alarm or distress or attempt to make anybody look foolish - if this has been the case then as chairman of the group I take full responsibility for that and I am offering an unreserved apology to our good friends, followers and supporters."
