A BUSY pedestrian crossing on a main road in Whitecross could be updated.
Warrington Borough Council have are hoping to convert the current pelican crossing on Lovely Lane near its junction with Selby Street into a puffin crossing.
The proposal to change the crossing comes after residents raised concerns about the amount of time that people were waiting for the lights to let them cross the road.
A puffin crossing uses a pedestrian recognition device that helps to detect when someone is waiting to cross the road to make the lights change quicker. Reducing the chance of pedestrians wanting to cross the road.
Anyone that would like to voice their opinions on the proposals should send their opinions to John Holmes of the Legal Services Section, Corporate Services Directorate, Quattro Building, New Town House, Buttermarket Street, Warrington, WA1 2QB. The closing date for these is Thursday, June 7.
