ALMOST 600 Warrington residents have signed a petition urging the Government to ban Donald Trump from entering the UK.
After going on Parliament's e-petition website on Tuesday, following Mr Trump's call for a temporary halt on Muslims entering the United States, it has gained more than 427,500 signatures.
A total of 372 of those have come from residents in Warrington South and 222 in Warrington North, forming a total of 594 in the town.
The petition, which is asking the Government to take action on the 'hate speech', could be brought before MPs as any petition with more than 100,000 signatures is automatically considered for debate in Parliament.
A counter-petition set up a day later telling members of the public to oppose a ban and mind their 'own business' has received 13,632 signatures – four from Warrington South residents and three from Warrington North.
6,724 people have signed the 'Block Donald J Trump from UK entry' petition in the last hour.
