AN 'unsafe' wall outside the Town Hall is being rebuilt in line with Historic England guidelines – and will cost more than £15,000 to construct.
Workmen have been at the site since last month and the council confirmed the new wall is set to be constructed in January.
A spokesman said: "An unsafe perimeter wall at the Grade I listed building is being demolished and rebuilt in line with Historic England guidelines.
"Fewer than three per cent of listed buildings are classified 'buildings of exceptional interest' and the work requires great care.
"It will cost in the region of £15,785 and should be completed in the next five weeks."
