YOUNGSTERS at Bewsey Lodge Primary School are helping to keep new-born babies warm this winter by knitting them cardigans and hats.
The Lodge Lane school’s knitting club have been knitting cardigans and hats for babies on the neonatal unit at Warrington Hospital.
The knitters, who have previously made blankets for the babies on the unit, presented Julie Austin, a nursery nurse on the neonatal unit, with the work this week.
Julie said: “It is always lovely when we receive donations to the unit but it is extra special when it is made by children – I really enjoyed visiting the school and seeing the children in action, they made me feel very welcome.”
